[Guevara (Antonio de)] The Golden Booke, translated by John Bourchier, black letter, title within woodcut typographic border, penultimate f. with woodcut printer's device otherwise blank, with final blank f., lacking B1, M8 & U1, title trimmed at fore-edge just shaving border, title gutter with old glue stain and little frayed, Sig. F with small portion of loss to head affecting few letters, some headlines trimmed, some very small worming to head, very occasionally affecting letter of text, generally light browning, some staining, later calf, spine worn at head, rubbed, covers detached, [STC 12447], small 8vo (134 x 80mm.), Thomas East, 1586.

⁂ Bourchier's translation of Antonio de Guevara's Libro aureo, a collection of incidents and letters from the life of Marcus Aurelius. We can trace only a handful of copies at auction, the last Bloomsbury, 2014 (also defective).
