⁂ An important early "introduction to Chinese methods of indicating time, the cycles, etc. With parallel terms in other Eastern languages" (Lust). Bayer (1694-1738), was a pioneer in Sinology and became Professor of Oriental Antiquities at St. Petersburg. Rare at auction with RBH only citing two recent copies, in 1972 and 2009.
