Gordon of Khartoum.- Gosse (P.H.) The Ocean, first edition, Charles George Gordon, "Gordon of Khartoum's" copy with ink presentation inscription on front free endpaper, engraved frontispiece illustrations, original blind-stamped cloth, rebacked preserving original backstrip, spine a little faded, corners slightly bumped, 8vo, 1845.

⁂ Inscription reads: "C.G. Gordon A Reward for Attention to his Studies Fullands House Decr 17th. 1845.".

Charles George Gordon (1833-85), "Chinese Gordon" and "Gordon of Khartoum", army officer; educated at Fullands House near Taunton 1843-46.
