Middle East.- Janssonius (Johannes), Persia sive Sophorum Regnum, Persia, present day Iran, decorative title cartouche with three robed Persian figures, armorial dedication cartouche, engraved map on laid paper with indistinct watermark, 380 x 495 mm. (15 x 19 3/4 in), no text on verso, central vertical fold, wide margins with nicks and tears, [Amsterdam], circa 1650; together with two further impressions of the same map, one laid down and hand-coloured, the other with Latin text verso, and two other variant earlier versions of the same map by Johannes Blaeu, engravings, each c. 370 x 495 mm. (14 1/2 x 19 1/2 in), browning, numerous tears, losses to margins, some going within the map, [1634 and later] (5)
