The Autobiography of a Horse, first edition, wood-engraved frontispiece, 8pp. advertisements at end, occasional faint marking, ink ownership inscription to endpaper, original pictorial green cloth decorated in black and gilt (Carter's C variant with the horse looking left, slight bumping to spine ends, neat repairs to joints, light rubbing, an excellent example, preserved in custom morocco-backed drop-back box, 8vo, Jarrold and Sons, [1877].
⁂ An excellent copy of this Victorian equine classic, whose author died soon after its publication.
