Beerbohm (Max) Winston Churchill with cigar, pencil with monochrome wash, signed 'max' and dated '1912' in the lower right, further inscribed lower left, sheet 312 x 200 mm. (12 1/4 x 7 7/8 in), under glass, laid onto early mount, two small repairs visible, one to armpit, the other in the blank area in the upper right quadrant, some faint creases and surface dirt, unframed, 1912.
