Travelling Charts; or, Iron Road Books, for Perusal on the Journey, 8 vol., long folding guides with drop-head titles, maps and wood-engraved vignettes, folding concertina-style into original wrappers, 6 in the more expensive gilt-decorated cloth, 2 printed wrappers, one or two with tears or repairs to internal folds, a little rubbed and soiled, one with slight cockling to cloth, preserved together in modern half dark maroon morocco slip-case with pull-off top, spine slightly faded, oblong 8vo, Railway Chronicle, [c.1845/46].

⁂ Comprising: London to Brighton, London to Tunbridge Wells, London to Southampton, London to Oxford, London to Cambridge, London to Dover, London to Birmingham, & London to Gosport. The early issues were priced at 6d. but as the series grew the price rose to 1s and 1s 6d apiece if you wanted the "morocco cloth binding". The London to Brighton issue has an overslip of "one shilling" replacing the original sixpence. As far as we can ascertain there were in all 11 issues, those missing are London to Guildford, Wolverton, & Richmond.
