Works

Founded by Reverend John Curwen in 1863, under his grandson Harold Curwen and Oliver Simon the London-based press saw the design revolution of British printing in the early 20th century. Illustrators Eric Ravilious, Edward Bawden, Claud Lovat Fraser, Barnett Freedman and Paul Nash all spent time working at the press. Key works include A Specimen Book of Pattern Papers… of 1928 and the 16 issues of the Curwen Press News-Letterfrom 1932-39.
