These epigrams cover a wide range of subjects - from foolish astrologers, prostitutes and cuckolds to kingship, government and the brevity of life. He addresses Henry VIII, humanist friends, his children, a fat priest, a woman he loved long ago, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, and sometimes himself.
