Blyton (Enid, children's writer, 1897-1968) Autograph Letter signed to "Mr Holbrow", 6pp., on Enid Blyton letterhead paper, 4to, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, 14th February 1953, a lengthy letter explaining why she is launching the Enid Blyton magazine for reasons such as editorial control, being able to advertise non-Newnes published books, and commenting on print runs: "We thought at first we'd print about 250,000 - but... we are having to revise our ideas considerably - upwards! The last I heard was that it might go to 500,000", continuing to talk about the Famous Five Club, and hoping "to put out some really worth-while ideas for children. They do so love to follow what I say - and tell you the truth, I want to use the enormous influence I have now, to guide the children, as well as to entertain them", signed vertically downwards in the margin of final f.; 3 typed carbon copies of letters from Holbrow to Blyton, dated 13 February, 16 February and 2nd March 1953, each 1p., 4to, minor pin hole marks to upper margins; and a photograph of the author, v.s., v.d.
